Kick ass theatre + beer to boot!

Theatre360
° will soon be entering into the robust and thriving artistic community in the City of Roses. We look forward to hearing from you as the planning and implementation of this hot new venue moves from dream to reality.

The Idea
:
A production company and theatre (specifically in the round) housed in the belly of the coolest pub in Portland.

Theatre360° will produce up to six (6) fully-staged exceptional Musical Theatre productions annually. In order to establish a solid, cross-cultured base, each season will produce a show in the standard repertory. Additionally, we will emphasis an eclectic mix of newer works & premiers (as inspired by the New York Musical Theatre Festival – NYMF).

The Reasoning:

I love Portland, I love beer, I love the art of Musical Theatre and I am not alone! On average, 70% of Portlanders and over 1.5 million visitors attend arts and cultural events annually making the Creative Arts sector a $320 Million industry in the Portland Metro Area. Having earning the nickname "Beervana" by beer aficionados, Portland already embraces other "entertainment meets pub" venues offering movies and live musical events. I believe there is a demographic, although not specifically classified as "theatre goer", who would welcome this refreshing new incarnation where Broadway meets Beer!

The People:
This is your Theatre360°! In a recent survey, 9 out of 10 Portland voters believe that arts and culture are important to the growth and development of community. This support for local artists over the past 15-years has made Portland the theatrical and cultural hub of the Pacific Northwest (Shhhh, don't tell Seattle). I am thrilled to be coming home to a community that sees the Creative Arts, not as a luxury, but as a part of who we all are as Oregonians.

Arizona Broadway Theatre

I'm excited to announce I'll be heading up a new position as the Sales/Audience Development Representative for the Arizona Broadway Theatre in Phoenix, AZ starting this January.

Kiel Klaphake, Executive Producer and Founder of ABT, has asked me to come on board for the start of 2010 as ABT implements a new Strategic Plan. One area of importance is the development of new audiences throughout the Valley of the Sun! I'm excited to add my efforts promoting a leading producer of exceptional theatre in the Valley.

More important, Kiel has been an enormous advocate of Theatre360° and continues to provide his invaluable wealth of knowledge toward it's realization. Working with Kiel on a day to day basis is going to be worth every minute. Plus, you have to love the sun in AZ!
